Selaginella siamensis
Selaginella siamensis from Thailand.
This species goes some months in dormancy during the winter period. In constant terrarium conditions they go dormant also and dissappear completely for some months. But don’t panic, they will revive after some months with additional new shoots. Just keep them in the same conditions all year round. They prefer less humidity when they are in dormancy but it is certainly not obligatory.
Selaginella is a genus of spike-moss plants that are native to tropical and subtropical regions. Selaginella plants are often grown as ground cover, but they can also be grown indoors in a terrarium.
