Selaginella is a genus of spike-moss plants that are native to tropical and subtropical regions. Selaginella plants are often grown as ground cover, but they can also be grown indoors in a terrarium.

  • Light: Selaginella plants prefer full shade if grown indoors and partial shade outside
  • Temperature: a minimum of  18°C in the growing season
  • Watering: keep the soil moist, not wet during active growth and avoid letting the soil dry out completely
  • Fertilizing: apply a balanced liquid fertilizer at 1/2 of the strength every 2 weeks during active growth
