What is very special about this plant, is that it always has a dormant miniature leaf, at the bottom of the main plant, that will grow when the main plant has finished blooming and dies off.

The native distribution of this species extends from Central Malaysia to Western Papua New Guinea. It is typically found growing as a lithophyte or an annual plant, primarily thriving in the wet tropical biome.

They grow on humid or wet limestone rocks. Perfect for a terrarium when mounted epiphytically or even on the terrarium floor.

• Light: prefers shade all year-round and never direct sun
• Temperature: a minimum of  14°C in the growing season
• Watering: keep the soil moist, not wet during active growth
• Fertilizing: apply a balanced liquid fertilizer at 1/4 of the strength every 2 weeks during active growth
• Humidity: above 70%
• Soil: very well-drained mineral soil with a pH range of 7
• Water: moist water range
• Propagation: stem cuttings, leaf cuttings and from seeds
