Sonerila is a genus of evergreen perennials that are native to Southeast Asia. This species is found on the island of Sumatra.

• Light: sonerila plants prefer bright, filtered light all year-round and no direct sun
• Temperature: a minimum of  18°C in the growing season
• Watering: keep the soil moist, not wet during active growth
• Fertilizing: apply a balanced liquid fertilizer at 1/4 of the strength every 2 weeks during active growth
• Humidity: above 60%, avoid misting the foliage
• Soil: very well-drained soil with a pH range of 5 to 7
• Watering: normal to moist water range
• Propagation: stem cuttings, leaf cuttings and from seeds
