Sinningia pusilla ‘Itacoa’ and ‘Serra da Vista’ mix

Sinningia pusilla ‘Itacoa’ and ‘Serra da Vista’ mix grown from seeds.

Micro-miniature Sinningia, a member of the Gesneriaceae family like its relative, the African Violet, thrives in conditions that differ slightly from other Gesneriads. It requires high humidity but can tolerate lower light levels. You can place it at the edge of a fluorescent light stand or in a bright window without direct sunlight.

These plants grow from tubers and have an active growing and flowering period followed by a dormant phase.

  • Light: Sinningia plants prefer bright, filtered light all year-round and no direct sun
  • Temperature: a minimum of  16°C in the growing season
  • Watering: keep the soil moist, not wet during active growth
  • Fertilizing: apply a balanced liquid fertilizer at 1/2 of the strength every 2 weeks during active growth
  • Humidity: above 60%
  • Soil: very well-drained soil with a pH of 6
  • Water: normal to moist water range
  • Propagation: stem cuttings, leaf cuttings and from seeds
  • Country of origin: Brazil
