Begonia curtisii is a tuberous species from Phang Nga area in Thailand. It grows on limestone cliffs. Highly variable species.
In winter, the plant enters a dormant phase, during which it typically dies back to the ground. During this period, it’s advisable to reduce watering until growth resumes in spring. Once spring arrives, growth becomes rapid.
Light: prefer bright, indirect light if grown indoors and partial shade outside
Temperature: a minimum of 18°C in the growing season
Watering: keep the soil moist but not waterlogged and avoid letting the soil dry out completely
Fertilizing: feed every 2 weeks from early spring through summer with a balanced water-soluble fertilizer
Humidity: above 70%
Soil: prefer well-draining soil that is rich in organic matter with some limestone chips
Water: normal to moist water range
Propagation: stem cuttings, leaf cuttings
